The 10-Year Uhuru Government in Kenya

Uhuru Kenyatta's ten-year government from 2013 to 2023 is an important period in Kenyan history. With its strong focus and commitment to change, the government embarked on a journey to address a variety of health and political issues. This review aims to identify the achievements and challenges of the Uhuru government during its tenure.

Economic Growth

One of the main achievements of the Uhuru Government is its focus on economic development. The government has implemented many strategies, such as the Big Four Agenda, to support key sectors such as manufacturing, healthcare, affordable housing and food security. Despite progress in these areas, financial and implementation issues have prevented the full achievement of the Agenda's objectives. However, the government's infrastructure development efforts, particularly the scale of the railroad, have improved connectivity and stimulated the economy in the region.

Education

Uhuru Government recognized the importance of education in building the future of the nation and prioritizes investment in education. Significant progress has been made in expanding primary and secondary education and vocational education and training. Free education programs and secondary education grants have helped increase enrollment rates. However, concerns remain about the quality of education, inadequate infrastructure and the need for more investment in higher education and skills development.

National Health Reforms

The government has initiated health reforms, including Universal Health Coverage (UHC).The aim is to provide affordable and accessible healthcare to all Kenyans. Despite progress, challenges remain such as lack of funding, conflict and inequality in delivery. Additionally, the COVID-19 pandemic has highlighted the need for increased health and emergency preparedness.

Crime and Governance

Crime has been a constant problem in Kenya and the Uhuru government is working hard to combat it through initiatives such as Huduma Namba and the digitization of public services. However, corruption is still a major problem and strong measures are needed to address it. The government's commitment to transparency and accountability has yielded positive results, but further institutional reform and public participation are needed to ensure change lasts.

Infrastructure Development

The Uhuru government prioritizes infrastructure to improve connectivity and support economic growth. The construction of roads, bridges and railways has improved transportation within the country and with neighboring countries. However, concerns remain about cost overruns, debt sustainability and infrastructure stability.

Constitutional Law and National Integration

The government has begun implementing political reforms, including the Building Policy (BBI), to promote and reduce integration at the national level, including electoral violence. While facing support and opposition, the BBI opens the door to important debates about administration and elections. It is also important to ensure unity and cooperation to meet the diverse needs and desires of the Kenyan people.

Overall, Uhuru's government in Kenya has passed ten years, but has also encountered problems. The government's focus on economic development, education, health and infrastructure investments bore fruit. However, problems such as corruption, poor public performance and manage change persisted throughout his tenure. As Kenya progresses, it must improve its progress and address remaining challenges to achieve a prosperous, inclusive and egalitarian society.

The present must continue with ongoing reforms while reclaiming the lessons of the past to build a better future for Kenya and its people.

Chasing the Open Road: My Unwavering Desire to Own a Car and Explore the World.

In the quiet recesses of my mind, a persistent dream has taken root and flourished, weaving its way into the very fabric of my aspirations. It's a dream that involves more than just possessing a vehicle – it's about the freedom to navigate life's twists and turns on four wheels, with the one I hold dear riding shotgun. The genesis of this desire, like any journey, has been marked by various milestones and detours. It all began with the alluring charm of the Mercedes B180, a car that captivated my imagination with its unique design and elegance. Yet, as dreams are wont to do, mine evolved, and my gaze shifted towards the Subaru SG5, a vehicle that promised more than just a mode of transportation. It whispered promises of soul and thrill, an invitation to embrace the road with unbridled enthusiasm. Then, practicality intervened, steering my thoughts toward the Nissan Dualis. Its versatility and functionality held a certain appeal, making it seem like the sensible choice for t...

Pain of Death: Seeking Solace in Religion and Coping with Grief

Death, a subject both universal and deeply personal, has perplexed and haunted humanity since time immemorial. It is an inevitable journey we all must take, yet its sting remains one of the most profound experiences of human existence. In the face of such finality, many turn to religion, seeking answers, solace, and guidance on how to navigate the tumultuous waters of grief. The pain of loss is a deeply human experience, transcending cultural and religious boundaries. As the poet Robert Louis Stevenson once said, "The cruelest lies are often told in silence." Indeed, the silence that follows the departure of a loved one leaves behind a heartache that no one can truly mend. It is in this void that we grapple with questions of meaning, purpose, and the afterlife. Religion, with its rich collection of beliefs and traditions, offers a plethora of perspectives on death and its aftermath. In Christianity, death is often viewed as a passage to eternal life, where the soul finds pe...

The Case for the Death Penalty

In the realm of criminal justice, few debates elicit as much passion and controversy as the issue of the death penalty. While some argue against its use, citing concerns about its morality, efficacy, and potential for wrongful convictions, I firmly stand in support of the death penalty, particularly in cases involving heinous crimes such as murder and rape. My stance is not borne out of a desire for vengeance, but rather a commitment to justice for the victims and their families. First and foremost, it is essential to recognize the gravity of crimes like murder and rape. These are not mere transgressions; they represent the most profound violations of human rights and dignity. Murder robs individuals of their very existence, cutting short their hopes, dreams, and potential contributions to society. Rape inflicts deep physical and psychological scars, shattering a person's sense of security and trust in the world. In the face of such profound suffering, it is only fitting that socie...
